QtEasyTier Software License Agreement

【Important Notice — Please Read Carefully】

This agreement is a legally binding contract between you and the software author. The terms in this agreement that exempt or limit the author’s liability and restrict your rights are prominently highlighted in bold. Before installing, copying, running, or modifying this software, you should fully read and completely understand all terms of this agreement. Once you perform any of the above-mentioned actions, you are deemed to have agreed to accept all terms of this agreement.

1. Parties and Definitions

1. Software Author/Licensor: MingYueQingFeng (hereinafter “the Author”)
2. User/Licensee: The natural person or entity that installs, copies, uses, or modifies this software.
3. This Software: Refers to the QtEasyTier software program, all source code, related documentation, UI design, and all derivative works. Official repository: https://gitee.com/myqfeng/qt-easy-tier
4. Non-Commercial Use: Refers to use scenarios where a natural person uses the software solely for personal study, research, home use, and legal non-profit virtual networking, without any direct or indirect profit-making behavior.
5. Commercial Use: Refers to any use scenario for the purpose of profit, including but not limited to: enterprise/institutional internal use, paid software-related technical support/maintenance services, integrating this software into commercial products/services for sale, providing SaaS services based on this software, advertising monetization/traffic monetization using this software, bundling with other products for sale, and all other profit-making activities.

2. Copyright and Intellectual Property

1. All copyrights, trademark rights, patent rights, and other intellectual property rights of this software belong exclusively to the Author and are protected by the relevant laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and international copyright treaties.
2. This agreement only grants the user a limited use license. All rights not expressly granted are fully reserved by the Author. The user shall not exercise any rights beyond those stipulated in this agreement.

3. License Grant

The Author grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable use license, provided you fully comply with all terms of this agreement:

1. You may install and run this software on your personal computer for legal non-commercial virtual networking needs.
2. You may view the source code of this software solely for the purpose of studying and researching its implementation principles.
3. You may modify the source code of this software solely for personal non-commercial learning and optimization.
4. You may distribute the original or modified derivative versions of this software in accordance with Article 6 of this agreement.

4. Strictly Prohibited Conduct

Unless separately authorized in writing by the Author, you shall absolutely not engage in any of the following conduct:

1. Using this software for any commercial purpose or profit-making activity.
2. Providing this software as a service to third parties (including but not limited to SaaS models, managed maintenance services, paid technical support).
3. Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting to crack or circumvent any copyright protection measures of this software.
4. Removing, modifying, or obscuring the copyright notices, attribution information, terms of this agreement, or official repository address in this software.
5. Modifying or distributing this software or its derivative works without clearly attributing the original author as required by this agreement.
6. Using this software for any illegal activities, including but not limited to: circumventing national network supervision and censorship, accessing illegal online content, intruding into others’ computer systems, or engaging in any activities that violate the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China or the laws and regulations of your location.
7. Other conduct that violates the terms of this agreement, infringes upon the Author’s intellectual property rights, or violates laws and regulations.

5. Source Code Modification and Distribution Rules

If you distribute the original version, modified version, or derivative works of this software, you must strictly comply with all of the following requirements:

1. May only be distributed free of charge for non-commercial purposes; no fees of any kind may be charged, and shall not be used for commercial promotion.
2. Must clearly and prominently attribute the original author information in the software, source code, and related documentation: This software is based on the QtEasyTier project developed by MingYueQingFeng. Original project official repository: https://gitee.com/myqfeng/qt-easy-tier.
3. Must retain all terms of this license agreement in full, without modification or deletion, and your modified version/derivative work must be licensed under terms completely identical to this agreement.
4. Must not modify the core functionality or compliance statements of this software, and must not add any functionality that violates laws and regulations.
5. Must clearly state that the modifications are unrelated to the original author, distinguishing the responsibility boundaries between the original author and the modifier.

6. Third-Party Component Statement

This software uses the following third-party open-source components, each governed by its original open-source license agreement. You must also comply with the license requirements of the corresponding components:

1. EasyTier: Decentralized virtual networking core engine.
2. Qt Framework: Graphical interface development framework.
3. Breeze Style: KDE Plasma theme style.

The Author assumes no warranty responsibility for the functionality, security, or compliance of third-party components; relevant responsibilities are borne by the rights holders of the corresponding components.

7. Disclaimer

This software is provided “as is,” and the Author makes no express or implied warranties of any kind, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. In no event shall the Author be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use this software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Such damages include but are not limited to: data loss or corruption, business interruption, loss of profits, loss of business opportunities, computer system failure, personal or property damage.

8. Liability Limitation and Compliance Statement

1. This software is designed solely for personal non-commercial legal virtual networking, used only to achieve legal cross-network device communication needs. It does not possess or provide any functionality to circumvent national network supervision and censorship.
2. The Author expressly declares: does not advocate, support, or assist any activities using this software for illegal purposes, and will not provide technical support or other assistance for any illegal use of this software.
3. If you use this software for illegal purposes or in violation of the terms of this agreement on your own account, you shall bear full legal liability and consequences independently, unrelated to the Author. If this causes losses to the Author or third parties, you shall bear full liability for compensation.
4. The Author reserves all rights to pursue civil, administrative, and even criminal liability for any conduct that violates the terms of this agreement.

9. Agreement Termination

1. If you violate any term of this agreement, the license granted by this agreement will automatically and immediately terminate without the need for separate notice from the Author.
2. After termination, you must immediately cease using this software, destroy all copies (including but not limited to installation packages, source code, modified derivative works), and still bear corresponding legal liability for your pre-termination breach of contract.

10. Remedies for Breach

1. If you breach the terms of this agreement, the Author has the right to demand that you immediately cease the breach, eliminate the impact, apologize, and compensate the Author for all losses suffered, including but not limited to direct economic losses, attorney fees incurred in rights protection, litigation costs, notarization fees, travel expenses, and all other reasonable expenses.
2. This provision does not affect all other rights that the Author may exercise in accordance with laws, regulations, and other terms of this agreement.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

1. The conclusion, validity, interpretation, performance, and dispute resolution of this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the mainland region of the People’s Republic of China (excluding conflict of laws rules).
2. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved first through friendly negotiation between the parties; if negotiation fails, either party may submit the dispute to the competent people’s court in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Author’s location, for litigation.

12. Entire Agreement and Modification

1. This agreement constitutes the complete agreement between you and the Author regarding the use of this software, superseding all prior oral and written communications or related agreements.
2. The Author has the right to update and modify this agreement at any time. Updated agreements will be published in the official software repository and take effect upon publication. Your continued use of this software constitutes your agreement to be bound by the updated agreement.

This project QtEasyTier is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3) open-source license agreement. For the full license text, see the LICENSE file in the project root directory.

Supplementary Statement

1. Attribution Requirement: If you distribute the original version, modified version, or derivative works of this project, you must prominently retain the original author attribution: QtEasyTier Original Author: MingYueQingFeng, Project Official Repository: https://gitee.com/myqfeng/qt-easy-tier.
2. Compliance Statement: This project is intended solely for legal virtual networking needs. It is strictly prohibited for any activities that violate the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China or the laws and regulations of your location. Any entity using this project shall independently bear full legal liability for its usage conduct, and the original author shall not bear any joint legal liability arising from illegal use.
3. Disclaimer: This project is provided “as is” without any express or implied warranties. See Articles 15 and 16 of the GPLv3 license agreement for details.
4. Third-Party Components: Third-party open-source components used in this project are all governed by their original open-source license agreements.

In the event of any conflict between this license agreement and the GPLv3 license agreement, the original text of this license agreement shall prevail.
